Motion, Multisensory, and Experience Design across Brand, Media, Culture, and Space. Concept, Framework, and Format Development for Social Media, OnAir, Science Communication and Spatial and Immersive Experience.
I began in illustration, graphic design, and photography, where composition, contrast, and visual structure formed my foundation. In 1999, I moved into motion design at MTV Networks in New York and have worked in temporal design ever since, creating channel identities, campaigns, title sequences, exhibitions, and immersive formats for broadcasters, brands, and cultural institutions. Clients include MTV Networks, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, ORF, ZDF, VIVA, Pro7Sat1, ARD, Siemens, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW, Douglas × Peter Lindbergh, Universal Music, Sony Music, Prime, and CERN.
My work focuses on how meaning forms over time. Motion design succeeds through timing, sequence, contrast, and resolution: the decisions that shape expectation, memory, and recognition. This makes the work effective for motion branding, title design, channel identity, and experiences where audiences encounter identity as a time-based and sensory sequence.
Alongside client work, I research perception across modalities, drawing on neuroscience and crossmodal integration. This research informs practical design decisions around salience, sensory weighting, context, and interpretation. https://multisensory-design.com
I also apply futures thinking to anticipate how attention, media behavior, and cultural conditions reshape what motion design, brand systems, and experience formats need to deliver next.
Education includes Marketing & Advertising at the School of Visual Arts in New York; Design & Photography at Merz Akademie Stuttgart; a Diploma in Design & Art History from Frankfurter Akademie für Kommunikation und Design; Fundamentals of Neuroscience certification from Harvard Faculty of Arts and Sciences Online; Neuroscience and Cognitive Studies via MIT OpenCourseWare; and Futures Thinking certification from the University of Cambridge ICE.
