Info Graphics, Explainer, Science, History, Data, Processes
Motion design handles science, systems, mechanisms, procedures, invisible processes, and dense information. It proves conceptual compression, sequencing, abstraction, clarity, and the ability to make complex material visible without reducing it.
EU ERWEITERUNG
BMEIA, Außenministerium Österreich, OnAir Studios, 2025
Concept, Design, Editing, Animation. Wording for social media for the official channel of the Aussenministerium Austria mfa_austria in cooperation with OnAir Studios Vienna.
The European Community for Coal and Steel, the European Economic Community, and Euratom Treaties, signed in 1951 and 1957 respectively, are at the origin of the European Union. The European Union was founded with the aim of promoting peace, security, and prosperity throughout Europe. First and foremost, the EU is therefore based on a commitment to shared values such as democracy, the rule of law, freedom, and human rights, as well as the promotion of a single market.
Task: Create an Instagram post about EU enlargement for the official channel of the Austrian Foreign Ministry.
Method: Developed the idea, story, concept, wording, design, and animation. The concept starts with Europe in ruins. Broken pieces become stars, and each star represents the countries joining in one enlargement stage. The animation builds the Union step by step from  1951until the full European star circle is complete in 2025.
Result: A strong visual timeline of EU enlargement: fragments become countries, countries become stars, and the stars assemble into one European structure. The post makes the growth of the EU understandable in one clear movement, from postwar fracture to “Europa. In Vielfalt geeint."

Dark Matter, Antihelium-3, and CERN
Explainer on the search for dark matter and the detection of antihelium-3, visualizing advanced particle physics for a broad audience.
Task: Make abstract physics legible to non-specialist audiences.
Method: Science-to-narrative translation through conceptual compression, storytelling, unique illustrations, and animated explanation.
Result:  Four visual narratives turning dark matter, quarks, neutrinos, sea level rise, and black holes into public-facing explanations. Featured in Die ZEIT and numerous print and online magazines.

Agile Work at BMW Group
BMW Group, Emerge & See
Illustration, Design, Animation, Storytelling
Task: Make corporate process complexity understandable by creating a mascot that guides the viewer through agile workflows.
Method: Process-to-narrative translation through illustration, motion continuity, one-shot animation, and timing. Instead of standard explainer language, Agilo flies through the BMW world of agile working in a modern abstract visual style.
Result: A no-edit animated explanation turning agile process logic into a single visual sequence with an Agilo fan base.
WHAT’S THAT SMELL?
Concept, Illustration, Animation, Explainer Series
Carolin Vedder, 2023
Task: Making olfactory science and scent perception accessible through short animated episodes and unexpected olfactory fun facts.
Method: Science-to-sensory-story translation through bold illustration, molecular diagrams, smell comparisons, graphic metaphor, bilingual typography, and rhythmic animation. Abstract scent concepts become visible through everyday references such as beer, roses, molecules, breath, and detection.
Result: An illustrated explainer format that turns facts about smell into memorable visual scenes, making olfaction readable as chemistry, perception, and cultural association at the same time.
